Who Am I?
Athanasius (ca. 296-373)
Athanasius, arguably the most historically significant thinker, theologian and writer of all time in the church, was a Bishop of Alexandria and is most notably known for his defense of the faith at the Council of Nicea in 325AD. Athanius fought for the essence of Jesus based on Scripture and not culture. One of the primary opponents to the deity of Yeshua was a man named Arius who was instrumental in spreading the teaching that Jesus was a created being. Many attribute his education as Greek, but that doesn’t change his African heritage and nationality. He was known as the black dwarf because of his dark skin and short stature.
